ESPLANADE PARK

Public BBQ

A large neighbourhood park at Taylors Hill with a good deal packed in: an oval, tennis courts, exercise machines, a playground, a pond stocked well enough to fish, and a figure-eight walking circuit with a decent view. A big sheltered barbecue area with benches and tables sits beside the tennis courts, with a water station alongside, and parking is ample. It is peaceful and very much a family park, busy with children in the evenings. Two drawbacks come up repeatedly: the grass dries out badly and the place can look parched, and there are no public toilets at all, which is the one thing keeping it from being excellent.
